sounds like a great day... and unbelievably cheap! i don't know where you typically go, but the prices you quote for admission and parking are low low low by nyc standards... and about half the cost of other aquariums around. i guess they have to cover the cost of care and feeding of all those animals your children thrilled to.

Whether you ultimately choose to put your money in your 401k or not is personal choice. Just don't do it because you get something for 'free' (employer match; tax benefit; etc.) ... do it because - when YOU run the numbers and compare the alternatives - those 'extras' tip the balance of long-term return in favor of the 401k (will they? Maybe ... maybe not!).

You know, thinking about the NY Aquarium it is kinda beat up compared to the Bronx Zoo or Botanical Garden. Perhaps with all of the development that's supposed to happen over there the aquarium will be re-done? Of course then the prices may go up too...
Still sounds like a nice day though. I'm itching to check out some petting zoos with my little guy soon!
