brip blap: linklings, the Jets strike back edition

Steve, I don't for a minute think it's an investment!

But, as far as calculating how much it costs, some people would get carried away and say the opportunity cost of owning a Wii is well over $1,000,000! (It's true, I linked to an example in the bottom of my article). ;)

Oh, and thanks for the link, by the way. ;)

Oh, I know you don't think it's an investment. Other people seem to think a Wii is an "investment" in entertainment, though.

"that of the Jets’ puny yet inexhaustible team hammering away at the Patriots, forever" - sounds dirty, but good luck with that happening...:-)

It is time for the Jets to lose by 100 points ;)

I'm trying to think of a subject I care less about that Nintendo Wiis and I'm failing. But the topic is all over my feed reader. Roll on the end of Xmas.

Oh, and you forgot the best Wii argument Steve - that it provides exercise!

I predict that the Jets will do far, far better than Vegas predicts. I'm not predicting a win, but I am predicting that a team one year removed from the playoffs will not fold. I am also predicting that Guinness416 will not buy a Wii for Christmas...

There's a lot of hype behind the revenge of this game. Perhaps the Vegas line is inflated now that I think about it. I think Vegas is upset about losing the first 11 games by having spreads too low while Belichick was (and still is) hell-bent on blowing out everyone.

Ironically, if the Jets win, it might help the Patriots score a better draft pick with the 49ers next year. That might be a great consolation prize.

I just wanted to state for the record that I hate the Wii! I've played it several times and refuse to count it as exercise! Just because you move your arms a little doesn't mean you're working out!!! I'm over the Wii!

Last year Hubby wanted a Wii for Christmas. I couldn't find one, so I got him a $400 gift certificate to Best Buy instead. He used it in February and got his Wii for regular retail price, along with an extra controller and two games. I suggest anyone who's looking for one do the same rather than paying through the nose for it. Patience is a virtue, people. Unless you're currently selling one on eBay; then you want the impatient masses banging on your auction door.

    Thanks for the link, Steve.

Oh, and I'll also go in on the bet that Guinness won't be buying a Wii this Christmas. It was a subtle vibe, but I picked up on it. :)

What happened to the Jets? And don't say it was close - close only matters in horseshoes...and vegas, if you were betting. :-)
  • Steve · 1 year ago
Well, it was close if you figure in a 23 point spread. It certainly wasn't the blowout everyone expected... that having been said, a disappointing game to say the least. The Pats should be worried that the Jets played so poorly yet stayed so close. Then again, 16-0 looks very, very doable now.
