My last dr. visit with my endocrinologist stated that I am getting "at risk" for type 2 diabetes. I am at my heaviest 237 pounds at 5 ft 2 1/2 in, although it looks good in certain places. I was a 145 pounds 8 years ago. Some of the increase in weight gain came from a condition called polycystic ovarian sydrome- having some unbalance hormones. At any rate, I have began my journey to lose the weight because I do not want to become a diabetic at age 27. I do however work in a call center, at a desk for 8-10 hours a day, with some very disgrunteled customers. IT CAN BE DIFFICULT to not want to have some very delicious (unhealthy) snacks to take the edge off. However, I believe in life, you are never given more than you can handle. Push on!!

Good Luck to us all.

Re: Weight gain behind a desk

"At that point I was eating out of control and had almost no physical exercise."

Thats exactly how I've been feeling lately. But the really sad thing is, I have already been in the position of losing 60 pounds, eating very clean, running and biking almost everyday., etc. But somehow it all got away from me and I feel like I'm back where I started, concerning habits/lifestyle.
